The Horse Borrowers Club

Clark Valley Farm is the home of the Los Osos Horse Borrowers 4-H project.

Since 2007 the Horse Borrowers Club offers an opportunity for Los Osos 4-Hers who are 9 years old and up to have an introduction to horses. Participants learn hands-on horse care, horse handling, and some basic riding skills.

The Horse Borrowers Club emphasizes safety and uses the CHA level 1 manual. The Horse Borrowers project allows students to have access to horses without the cost of ownership. This project is lead by volunteer 4-H leaders Dana Tryde, the Clark Valley Farm barn manager, and Carol Studer, Level 2 Centered Riding Instructor and NARHA Advanced Instructor.
